Asus Eee PC X 101 Review, Netbook dengan Sensasi MeeGo. Asus merupakan salah satu vendor yang menggunakan OS MeeGo sebagai salah satu sistem operasi untuk netbooknya yang dinamai Eee PC X 101. Tampilan antarmuka pengguna dari OS yang dirancang Linux ini memang terlihat lebih mengesankan dan lebih menarik. Bagaimana, penasaran? Mari lebih lanjut ikuti review yang saya berikan.

Tampilan utama memang menawarkan fitur jejaring sosial yang lengkap. Halaman utama dari OS MeeGo menampilkan login langsung ke Twitter dan Facebook. Selain itu di sisi kiri terdapat tool bar yang bisa langsung diakses dengan mudah, antara lain Asus App Store, web brower dari Google Chrome, Mail, Messinger, Dropbox, Asus Vibe, MeeGo Help, User manual dan kalkulator. Menarik bukan?

Namun sayangnya ketika membuka jejaring sosial terlihat agak lambat dan tampilan terlihat kaku dan kurang menarik. Mungkin bagi pengguna yang terbiasa menggunakan OS Windows akan merasa sulit ketika menggunakan MeeGo karena banyak ikon yang tersembunyi untuk melakukan aktivitas office, games, accessories, media dan system tools.

Netbook MeeGo produksi Asus ini menggunakan Intel Atom N435 dengan kapasitas prosesor sebesar 1,33 GHz. Selain itu Eee PC X101 juga dilangkapi RAM (random access memory) sebesar 1 GB, sedangkan layar sudah menggunakan LCD 10,1 inci dengan resolusi mencapai 1020 x 600 piksel.

Spesifikasi lainnya termasuk baterai 4-sel yang mampu bertahan selama empat jam, memori penyimpanan SSD (solid state drive) hingga 8 GB, hard disk 250GB, slot kartu microSD, sebuah webcam 0,3 megapixel dan juga WiFi 802.11 b/g/n ditambahkan guna melengkapi netbook ini.

Netbook ini menggunakan Office dari Oracle dan sudah dilengkapi dengan Adobe Reader 8 dan Adobe AIR. Sayangnya media pemutar lagu tidak semua jenis file lagu bisa diputar. Bahakan setingan MP3 tidak bisa diputar di netbook MeeGo tersebut dan yang bisa diputar hanya dengan settingan (ogg).

Baterai 4-sel terbilang memiliki daya tahan yang lama, karena bisa digunakan hingga 4 jam ketika netbook ini sedang dipakai untuk mengetik dan menyalakan media. Netbook ini juga terbiang ringan dan tipis jika dibandingkan dengan netbook lainnya. Dan kisaran harganya pun tergolong terjangkau dengan kisaran harga USD 199.

Sayangnya MeeGo tidak bisa bersaing dan diklaim sulit untuk digunakan. Bahkan saat ini MeeGo sudah ditinggalkan oleh berbagai vendor, salah satunya ialah ponsel Nokia. OS yang mirip dengan MeeGo diklaim bernama Tizen. Rumor mengatakan Eee PC X 101 bisa mendapatkan update dari Tizen, namun kabar tersebut masih harus ditunggu pasalnya Asus belum mengeluarkan pernyataan resmi terkait isu ini.
