Tips Merawat Tumit Kaki

Jangan hanya fokus pada perawatan kulit wajah saja. Sebagai tumpuan seluruh tubuh, kaki pun butuh perhatian. Bagian dari kaki yang jarang diperhatikan adalah tumit. Padahal tumit memiliki kulit paling tebal dibandingkan dengan bagian lainnya.

Penyebab bagian ini sering menebal dan kasar karena tekanan terus menerus dan gesekan kulit dengan sepatu. Penyebab lainnya ialah seringnya memakai high heels, dan terlalu sering kontak dengan air sabun detergen. Tidak terawatnya tumit kaki sering menimbulkan retak-retak atau kasar.

Guna mengatasi berbagai problem tumit, ada beberapa langkah praktis yang dapat dilakukan. Salah satunya dengan pedicure di salon. Namun proses pengikisan berulang-ulang yang dilakukan terlalu sering akan membuat kapalan kaki tumbuh lagi. Karena itu, sebaiknya Anda memilih merawat bagian kapalan dengan membubuhkan lotion yang memiliki kandungan moisturizer tinggi.

Cara lain yang dapat dilakukan ialah rutin menggosok tumit kaki dengan alat penghapus telapak kaki (bisa berbentuk batu apung atau penghalus kaki khusus yang dijual di toko kecantikan) untuk menghilangkan sel kulit mati.

Sebelum melakukan langkah tersebut rendam kaki dalam air hangat agar kaki lebih mudah digosok. Satu hal yang harus diingat, bagian ini berperan penting untuk melindungi kaki, jadi jangan pernah mencoba menghilangkan kapalan dengan pisau cukur atau gunting. Karena akan membuat kaki mudah terinfeksi.

Cara lainnya ialah dengan perawatan tradisional. Untuk melembutkan kapalan pada kaki, rendam kaki selama 30 menit dalam campuran 2 sendok makan jus nenas, 2 kuning telur kocok, dan 1 sendok makan cuka apel. Lalu keringkan. Kulit tumit kaki yang cenderung mengeras atau menebal, dapat juga dihaluskan dengan kulit alpukat bagian dalam, setelah itu dibilas dengan air.
